What
is yoga? It is a practice of movement sequences called kriyas (energy/breath
patterns) and asanas (postures) that unify body, mind and spirit.
If done as a regular practice, yoga can unblock and balance the
system, thereby releasing intrinsic energy. In yoga practice-- as
in any artistic endeavor or in any sport-- your mind rests in your
breath-- while your breath rests in the motion. What makes yogic
practice unique is the attention paid to the inner experience. The
focus is not on expression or performance--it is on the inner effects
you feel…."
The
lessons are designed to let you move at your own pace. Jolie provides
four ways for you to study each pose. We suggest that you read through
the text explanation of each pose first. Then move on to the pose's
photo wheel which will explain each move within the pose in detail.
After viewing each photo tile you can then watch the pose in full
fluid movement by clicking on the video study. Once you feel you
are ready to physically try a pose click on the pose's audio guide.
These audio pieces will give you the freedom to step back from your
PC and perform the poses while being guided by Jolie. Just like
being in a yoga studio!
In
Lesson 1, you'll learn a number of poses and movements including
Mountain, Forward Bends, Half Moon, Triangle, Side Stretch, Bridge
Spinal Twists, Arm Positions, Sun Salutation, and Relaxation and
Visualization techniques.
In
Lesson
2, you'll learn Lymph Drain, Cat Cow, Hip and Belly Roll, Naval
Pump, Camel Ride, Diaphram Release, HO Chop Breath, Clapping Breath,
Punching Breath, Six Sided Breath, Sniffing and Slowing Breath,
Alternate Nostril Breath, Eyes Release, and Body Tighten and Release.
In
Lesson
3, you'll learn
how to attune yourself through breathing and concentration. We'll
discuss and practice Awareness. Other topics include: Meditating
on certain sounds, Directing the flow of Chi (your inner energy),
Opeing your heart, and and many other mediatiions.
