Computer Maintenance: A Historical and Technical Approach is an online course designed to provide you with a basic, technical understanding of your personal computer (PC) and how to update and upgrade the machine. The first module of the course presents an overview of the computer system and its components. In the next seven modules you will learn the specifics of the computer system such as utilizing memory, controlling system resources, the purpose of secondary storage, what peripheral hardware consists of, the function of systems software, and how printer devices operate. In Module 9 you will study how multimedia applications are designed and developed, and in the final module you will learn how modems connect.
