This
course includes an introduction to the World Wide Web, Hypertext
Markup Language (HTML), Web imaging, design principles, server-side
file handling, Web site organization, Microsoft FrontPage 2000,
and an overview of advanced Web authoring technologies.
The goal of this course is to give students the necessary skills
to build and display HTML documents on the World Wide Web.
This
course is designed for individuals who have a basic understanding
of the PC Windows (95, 98, 2000) environment and are familiar with
using the Netscape or Internet Explorer Web browsers to navigate
on the World Wide Web. Basic word processing skills of using a text
editor such as Notepad, which is available within the standard suite
of Windows software applications, are required as well. The student
must install Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Web authoring software to
complete the optional projects, and have Internet access.
Please
note, the Projects are ancillary to the course and are only there
to give you additional practice. They are not required nor are they
necessary for you to learn the material presented in the course.
